Volunteer work
An excellent chance to visit the mission and volunteer by helping the Brothers with the daily tasks of caring for disabled residents.
The Brothers' lives and work revolve around prayer, including chanting the Liturgy of Hours, attending daily Mass, and praying an evening Rosary around a statue of Our Lady of Fatima in the expansive gardens.
Engage in conversation to help the Brothers and children improve their English, or participate in the Monastery's life and chores, from washing dishes to working on building projects, challenging the brothers to a spirited game of volleyball, or joining them for an energetic night of board games.
The MOP Brothers lead a simple life through joyful and free service to the poor. Their joy stems from serving Christ by serving their suffering brothers and sisters. As their love for Jesus grows, so does their love for the poor, abandoned, and disabled. It is heartwarming to see the little ones seek out a Brother, who may be praying in the chapel, and lift their arms, knowing they will receive the warmth and love that every human desires.
The MOP Brothers truly embody the hands and feet of Christ. It is nearly impossible not to be touched and to feel some of the love and compassion shown by these young men who have sacrificed everything to follow in Jesus' footsteps.
